It’s time again for a journey back in time, a time that I remember with joy because...
The roads are great. Long open curves and some wiggly bits. I’m smiling. We arrive at the small village where my friends live around 19:00. Darkness is creeping over the village. It’s nice to get off my machine and it’s also a proud moment, we made it here with no problems.
Next year I will turn 50 and it has been quite exciting 49 years so far. This...
My voice has matured and changed in 25 years. I’m a better singer now. So, when the opportunity came to celebrate the albums I made with Iron Maiden, I was very enthusiastic.
Party San is a nice and decently sized festival with a nice angle towards the more brutal parts of metal, with a couple of surprises here and there. The drinks are good, the people are nice and the atmosphere great. Three festival days pass by so quickly and you always want it to last for just one more night.
What deeds and words will people remember once we are gone, what deeds and words will forever echo after it is all over? What do you want it to be?
However when I read about this I got this absolutely brilliant idea to rank my own chart containing the 666 best albums of all time. And to do this in a fair way I have to listen to all albums that’s been released.
Sure thing, the music doesn’t sound like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Slayer anymore (besides the retro bands). The reunions are becoming a parody and you seem to need more oxygen masks than cops on Sweden Rock Festivals. But guess what, heavy metal is not a formula – it is a way of thinking and living. I’m writing a book. My infinite entanglement trilogy started five years ago. It was time to start...
At the upcoming Sabaton Open Air my band NERVED is supposed to be playing after doom legends Candlemass and just before Sweden’s currently biggest metal act Sabaton? How the F did we end up in that slot? Honestly, I don’t know.
What’s also relative is its value in pure economic terms. I promised in my latest chronicle that money would be the subject for the next one, so I will in short try to explain why money is so utterly connected to the previous subject – oil.
It was a close call. It could have been a very sad ending to this story. But Petra, her beloved ones and we as a band got lucky this time. Life goes on – we are blessed. But also filled with inspiration for new songs. No ballads this time though.
The “real” singer was back in 1997 and they released a pretty awful album and after that my relationship with Mötley Crüe was over. But thank god that they released that album back in 94.
We started the Tour of the Eagle Spirit on March 1st. My fans seem be enjoying such a big change in the set, at least that’s what they say at the free meet and greet after every show on the tour so far.
This subject has fascinated me for a long time, and I’ve written many songs about it. “The End of Oil”, “The Prediction of M.King Hubbert”, “Our $oil”, and the much softer and melancholic “Waiting for The Water”. Check them out and enjoy the party in The Age of Petroleum while you can, for it is soon to be over.
I want to write about Rush, but what is there to say about them that haven’t already...
