I won’t do what you tell me – Chronicle from Blaze Bayley

So, for these moments of abandonment I am remembering every great gig of my life and even the rock discos I went to and I’m not doing what they told me. I know you understand that feeling. It isn’t just that song by that band. I’m a holy diver, a warrior of the world, and so many other metal things.

In search of real value

We all know that our way of living is completely unsustainable anyway and that there must be a change for the sake of our children. Mainly because of the acute resource issue in my humble opinion.

One last Hurrah, or maybe two?!

Apparently there are a bunch of Budgie songs that Burke recorded vocals for before his aortic aneurysm that he says that he would like to use for one final Budgie album. Burke says that he will call it “One last Hurrah”.

The Unicorn Catcher:Chronicle by Blaze Bayley

And those cynical journalists hated the fact that they could not influence the opinion of the maiden fans. For me It was a dream come true to be a part of Iron Maiden and share the rare and precious energy of those incredible fans.

Blessing and curse

When I first started to unlock the secrets to music theory like harmonies, rhythms and everything that you need to know to become a songwriter I wrote riff after riff, solo after solo, song after song like possessed.

To the Seventies and back, again…

I started to enjoy it a little bit more again around 2010 and in early 2012 I finally did something I always wanted to do, I bought new great and expensive speakers for my hifi. What a difference, it was like experience good music for the first time again.

The Tour After The Tour: Chronicle by Blaze Bayley

The roads are great. Long open curves and some wiggly bits. I’m smiling. We arrive at the small village where my friends live around 19:00. Darkness is creeping over the village. It’s nice to get off my machine and it’s also a proud moment, we made it here with no problems.

September chronicle: Blaze Bayley

My voice has matured and changed in 25 years. I’m a better singer now. So, when the opportunity came to celebrate the albums I made with Iron Maiden, I was very enthusiastic.

Party San Open Air 2019

Party San is a nice and decently sized festival with a nice angle towards the more brutal parts of metal, with a couple of surprises here and there. The drinks are good, the people are nice and the atmosphere great. Three festival days pass by so quickly and you always want it to last for just one more night.

Perhaps I’m crazy.

However when I read about this I got this absolutely brilliant idea to rank my own chart containing the 666 best albums of all time. And to do this in a fair way I have to listen to all albums that’s been released.

Develop or die

Sure thing, the music doesn’t sound like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Slayer anymore (besides the retro bands). The reunions are becoming a parody and you seem to need more oxygen masks than cops on Sweden Rock Festivals. But guess what, heavy metal is not a formula – it is a way of thinking and living. And it’s alive and kicking.

Between a rock and a hard place

At the upcoming Sabaton Open Air my band NERVED is supposed to be playing after doom legends Candlemass and just before Sweden’s currently biggest metal act Sabaton? How the F did we end up in that slot? Honestly, I don’t know.

Money:Thoughts from Thobbe Englund

What’s also relative is its value in pure economic terms. I promised in my latest chronicle that money would be the subject for the next one, so I will in short try to explain why money is so utterly connected to the previous subject – oil.
