The Darkness – Sabaton Open Air 2018

18 years ago a band was formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk in England. They got theirselves the name The Darkness and 2003 they released their debutalbum called “Permission To Land”. The members in the band today is Dan Hawkins (guitar, backing vocals), Justin Hawkins (lead vocals, guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass, backing vocals) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums). The Darkness will play the Sabaton Open Air next week, friday the 17th of august. Stargazed Magazine were sending a mail with some questions and when they got back to me, Frankie had been answering my questions.

Welcome back to Sweden and another festival. This time it’s Sabaton Open Air for the first time. What’s your expectations?

– Good merchandising opportunity. And a chance to try some smelly fish on crackers.

You played Sweden Rock Festival back in june. Are you pleased with the response you got there?

-Yes and I got a suntan too, with no bikini lines.

What will The Darkness be doing when the festivals are over for 2018?

-Writing the best rock album of 2019.

Do you have any special relationship to Sabaton?

-Yes I lived there in a previous life, I was a woodcutter specialising in toothpicks.

Plans for the future? New album maybe?

-The future is an ocean and The Darkness is a cork. Only the wind and tides can determine our destiny.

At last I want you to name your favourite song with The Darkness to perform live?

-Growing On Me
