Dragged Under announces new album “Upright Animals”

The album will be released on June 10, 2022 on Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group.

Dragged Under releases their new album “Upright Animals” on June 10. Singer Tony Cappocchi talks about the first single, “I want All of Us to be able to reach every single one who listens. Everyone has, no matter what situation they have been in, troubled relationships, under social stress, with a skewed self-image, had it tough for a few years and much has not worked as we thought. It is high time we zoomed out of our microscope through which we looked at our problems and realize that life and all our frustration are the same for all people. We wanted to make a carefree video as a contrast to the tense atmosphere of the song and we thought that dolls fit perfectly to describe the story. It is a kind of comment on how in recent years you could feel that you did not have control over your life and how we often had to pretend that everything was fine. Dolls have an ability I envy. They can smile through their problems and hide their feelings. I can relate to that. ”

When you remove everything else, we trust our animal instincts to survive. When we face danger, we either flee or we fight without hesitation. It does not matter how many differences we perceive exist between us, we breathe the same air, drink the same water and eat in the same way to be able to exist. Of course, Dragged Under is also controlled by these primal driving forces with its hard-drive hybrid of punk, rock, metal and hardcore. The band chose to evolve, so the Seattle quintet, consisting of Tony Cappocchi (vocals), Ryan Bruce (guitar), Sean Rosario (guitar), Hans Hessburg (bass) and Kalen Anderson (drums), have sharpened their teeth, claws and their style for its second full-length “Upright Animals”.

“There are clearly divisions in the media, class divisions and racial discrimination in our country,” observes Tony. “In many ways, we use our animal instincts because it is more convenient than thinking a little. Trying to keep up with today’s information flow is like drinking from a fire hose. So our animal instincts still shine through. We still need to be informed a lot before we can consider ourselves anything other than animals that walk on their hind legs. That’s what the record is about.
