Stahlmann’s “Military Lapdance” Used In Russian Gymnast’s Official Floor Music

Angelina Melnikova came to the Tokyo Olympics as the team leader, when women’s gymnastics – one of the most popular Olympic sports for fans – kicked off. It has been official for a long time that Angelina Melnikova’s floor music in 2021 included “Military Lapdance” by Stahlmann and was already used at other competitions in 2021.

However, shortly before the start of the Tokyo Olympics, she had to change her floor music because the rights to use one of the songs had not been cleared completely. As a consequence, they had to replace a full 30 seconds of the floor music. That said, the Stahlmann song “Military Lapdance” remained an important part of the floor music at the Tokyo Olympics and will hopefully lead to a successful result.

On February 24th 2017 Stahlmann released the first single (two-track) “Bastard/Nichts Spricht Wahre Liebe Frei” and it immediately climbed to #1 of the German club charts (DAC)!
The single was the first glimpse of the upcoming album “Bastard”.

Not only because of their unique silvery look (which quickly became a trademark) Stahlmann became one of the most important bands of the NDH genre and in addition to their typical powerful musical style, their brute but catchy lyrics and singer Mart’s deep, distinctive voice, their intense live performances prove this status as well. Since their debut “Stahlmann” in 2010, Stahlmann are on their way up. Their second and third album “Quecksilber” and “Adamant” both entered the German Top40 album charts in 2012 and 2013 and their latest output “CO2” even went to #22 in 2015. Stahlmann’s latest album, “Kinder der Sehnsucht”which premiered 2019, exudes musical and lyrical depth and at the same time stands for an exciting spirit of optimism. It contains everything that defines the tougher German music scene.
