Borknagar and Utmarken announced for Sabaton Open Air 2019
As reported earlier here at Stargazed Magazine, Sabaton Open Air 2019 will be held at Lugnet in Falun, Sweden on August 14-17, 2019. In addition to Sabaton themselves, the line-up also features Manimal, Visions of Atlantis, Brothers of Metal, Serenity, Grailknights, Gloryhammer, Lagerstein and Attick Demons.
Two further acts are now announced for the festival: The first is the progressive black metal supergroup Borknagar, launched by Øystein G. Brun in Bergen in 1996. The band has included members of such genre-defining acts as Gorgoroth, Immortal, Enslaved and Arcturus. With 10 studio albums to date, including a highly-experimental acoustic effort, Borknagar is sure to deliver an unforgettable show for Sabaton Open Air.
The second band is Utmarken, hailing from the northernmost reaches of Sweden and playing a blend of hard rock and folk metal. Founded in 2015 they are relative newcomers to the metal scene, but they bring a distinctive sound that’s in part thanks to the traditional Swedish nyckelharpa.
