Eclipse plays extra concert at Pub Anchor
The Swedish rock band Eclipse was booked to play the Stockholm Rock Out festival in Fållan on December 17 when the organizer suddenly announced that the company had gone bankrupt and the festival was therefore cancelled. A couple of days after the festival was cancelled, however, Eclipse was able to announce that they will instead be playing the same evening at Stockholm’s most well-known hard rock venue, Pub Anchor on Sveavägen.
“We were of course disappointed as we had been looking forward to the gig, but even more so because we knew that we had fans who had already booked both travel and accommodation to come and see us. Many fans have been affected by the canceled concerts of the pandemic year, but this was something else. This time we felt we had a chance to do something about it” says the band’s guitarist Magnus Henriksson.
The concert at Pub Anchor starts at 9pm on Saturday 17 December. Visitors are asked to arrive in good time as advance tickets are not sold.
During the past year, Eclipse has played large stages all over Europe and also had concerts in Japan and the USA. However, it has been many years since they were on Pub Anchor’s stage.
Erik Mårtensson says. “The fact is that we did our first ever gig at Anchor. It’s been 21 years now, which feels crazy when you think about it, but also so incredibly fun. Talk about homecoming! It feels fantastic that we were able to pull this off together with Anchor at such short notice. It will be a unique evening for both the band and the fans. Oh crowded!”
