Falling In Reverse ”Reimagines” Papa Roach’s Last Resort
10/10
It’s been over 20 years since Papa Roach released their debut single “Last Resort”, which has become one of the hottest singles during the 21st Century. The song appears as the lead single on the bands second studio album “Infest” and was released March 7, 2000. It reached number 57 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in December 2000 and topped the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart for seven weeks while also becoming the top-10 hit in Austria, Germany, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
“Falling In Reverse” is an American rock band that was formed in 2008 by lead vocalist “Ronnie Radke” while he was incarcerated. Before the formation of Falling In Reverse, Ronnie was the lead vocalist of “Escape The Fate” but was ejected in relation to his incarceration and was replaced with former “Blessthefall” lead singer “Craig Mabbitt”. Falling In Reverse has since then released 4 studio albums and their single “Popular Monster” currently holds +260,000,000 streams.
The band released their cover of Papa Roach’s Last Resort the 26th of June 2023 and have reached 3,4m views on their music video on Youtube, while this post is being written. Their cover makes an impact like no other have done before. The perfect mix of Ronnies vocals together with the cello and piano makes it a masterpiece I haven’t heard since “Disturbed’s” cover of “Simon and Garfunkel’s” “The Sound of Silence” back in 2015. “Fucking Killed it, loved it, so good” was the first comments “Jacoby Shaddix” (Original and current lead singer in Papa Roach) had to say to Ronnie when first hearing the unmixed version, as can be seen on Falling In Reverse’s Youtube video titled; “Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach reacts to Falling In Reverse – “Last Resort (Reimagined)”.
