Manowar’s Karl Logan, 53, arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Karl Logan, Manowar’s guitarist since 1994 (when he replaced David Shankle who had joined after original member Ross “The Boss” Friedman was fired in 1989) has been charged with possessing child pornography, reports Blabbermouth.

Logan, 53, was arrested on August 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with six counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor, i.e. “a person commits the offense of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material, he possesses material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity.” (N.C. General Statute §14-190.17A)

A warrant was issued back in August for his arrest and he was booked into the local jail, according to a spokesperson at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Logan’s bail was set at $35,000 and he has since bonded out.

As previously reported here at Stargazed, Manowar are supposed to continue their “The Final Battle” farewell world tour in February 2019, including a show in Gävle, Sweden in July.

Manowar has now posted on Twitter that Logan’s legal issues will not affect their tour plan but that Logan will not be performing with them. No word as of yet as to who will take his place as their guitarist.
