Mats Levén joins Vandenberg
As previously reported here at Stargazed Magazine, Vandenberg re-emerged with singer Ronnie Romero (ex-Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow) for the album “2020“. Adrian Vandenberg (ex-Whitesnake, Vandenberg’s MoonKings) who first formed the band in 1981 has now announced that Romero has been replaced by Swedish vocal powerhouse Mats Levén, formerly with Swedish Erotica, Treat, Abstrakt Algebra, Krux, Yngwie Malmsteen, Therion, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Candlemass, and Prins Svart.
The new line-up is working on a new album but they will also take time to make one live performance in 2021, at the Planet Rockstock Festival in Trecco Bay, Wales, UK, on November 12th. In addition to Levén and Adrian Vandenberg, the band now features bass player Randy vand der Elsen (of NWOBHM-band Tank) and drummer Koen Herfst (Bobby Kimball, Epica, Doro).
