Rian announce new album “Wings”

Swedish melodic rockers Rian have announced the upcoming release of their third studio album, “Wings, on August 4, 2023.

The inception of Swedish melodic rock group Rian dates back to 2017 when they released their first album, “Out Of The Daekness”, independently. The album garnered positive reviews, particularly in Europe. The band’s growth was fueled by live performances commencing in 2018, as well as the addition of lead guitarist Tobias Jakobsson. Between 2018 and 2020, new songs were crafted, drawing inspiration from the melodious harmonies and lyrics penned by vocalist/guitarist Richard Andermyr.

Rian courageously embarked on refining their artistry, delivering musical compositions that could be best described as a contemporary rendition of timeless melodic rock, reminiscent of the latter half of the 1980s.

While Rian undeniably channels influences from esteemed acts like Bon Jovi, Winger, Dokken, Europe, Queensryche, and Survivor, they possess a distinctive and contemporary flair that sets them apart. This distinctiveness caught the attention of the Frontiers label, leading to their signing for the second album, “Twenty-Three” . Their latest release, “Wings”, follows suit.

The tracks on the new album continue to showcase an abundance of groove, commanding guitar riffs, infectious refrains, exceptional vocal arrangements, and mind-blowing guitar solos – courtesy of the remarkable lead guitars of Tobias Jakobsson. The sound quality is sharper than ever, thanks to the masterful mixing skills of Dennis Ward (known for his work with Magnum, Pink Cream 69, and Khymera).

“Wings” presents an exhilarating modern take on classic melodic rock, fueled by impeccable songwriting, remarkable guitar craftsmanship, sublime vocal harmonies as well as fine keyboard crafts signed Mr. Eric Ragno.
