Swallow The Sun Announce Release of Book Biography
Finnish Melodic Doom Metal band “Swallow The Sun” announced earlier today the release of the band´s own biography, written by Matti Riekki. This biography will be a insight from the band´s own perspective on internal intrigues, the twists and turns inside the music industry and the pain that covers everything underneath, but also regarding friendship and the solid will that drives through the walls. The protagonist of the band’s historian Juha Raivio (Guitar) speaks for the first time about insurmountable difficult things, the most grinding which is the death of his wife.
“When I first heard about the letter, my answer was one hundred percent NO. I always wished music could speak for itself. However, the band has had to sink into an endlessly deep Mariana Trench and climb up a seemingly endless mountain wall, and that story deserves to be told.”
– Raivio
“The band is old enough that they started to have stories like a book. And this was quite a therapeutic session for the band to talk through old stuff. It was no easy task for a Finnish man! Couldn’t avoid laughter – and tears – either.”
– Mikko
The quotes are taken from Swallow The Sun´s social media posts regarding the release.
More information regarding exact release date and which languages it will be published in is lacking at the moment. Book is expected to be released January 2024.
Update: The band have confirmed that the book will be released only in finnish, but they might make a english translation in the future.
