Denied – Freedom Of Speech

5/10

Sweden are known for several things. We had a king who was skiing nine swedish miles to escape the danish. We have a king right now who are a bit confused if he’s in Örebro or Arboga. We have a national team in soccer who will play the Fifa World Cup this summer and we right now have three meters of snow.

But there is another thing that Sweden are one of the best countries in the world. I’m talking about music and especially Heavy Metal. My first review on Stargazed Magazine is a band called Denied and their latest effort is an album called ”Freedom Of Speech”. There is energy in the music and the album starts off with a fast song called ”Alive”. ”Don’t You Know Me” takes over and it caught me by surprise that the third song ”Scarred Soul” is a slower song. This type of Heavy Metal usually holds the slower songs at the end of the records.

The problem with the album is that it doesn’t keep up my interest the whole time. The four songs ”The Other Side”, ”The Ferryman”, ”The Devil In Me” och ”Three Degrees Of Evil” is pretty boring but the band find the right track again on ”False Truth” and the cover of Twisted Sisters ”Stay Hungry”. To sum it up I think the potential is very good and Denied is definitely a band we will hear more from in the future.
