Impending Doom – The Sin and Doom vol. II
4/10
Imagine a mix between the grinding brutality of Autopsy and the dark rhythms of Meshuggah, mix it up with real doomy heaviness and you’ll get something like Impending Doom. This is a very heavy and dark album with a lot of brutality that smacks its listener right on the head. It’s quite massive, and incredibly intense.
Allthough the intensity, this album never really grabs a real hold on me. It’s kind of the same thing over and over with no variation, and when it’s finished, no songs really left an impact. There’s quite a cool sound here, but the whole thing isn’t that much to talk about. It works for a couple of songs, but then it gets quite tiresome. In the end, The Sin and Doom vol. II is not an album for me.
