Kissin’ Dynamite – Ecstasy

7/10

I’ve been helping out at the Sabaton Open Air for several years as a driver who pick up the bands at the airport and drives them to Falun and the festival. 2013, oh my god but time flies, I had the great honour to drive Elvenking to Arlanda and when I was there i pick up Axxis. I also driving another german band and they made quite an impact on me when I saw them live a few hours after we came to Falun. The band name was Kissin’ Dynamite and it was five young guys with plenty of attitude but still they were extremely nice to me. Now five years later they are releasing a new album named “Ecstasy” and it’s very good. When you here new music, as I did back in 2013, you stand there and your thoughts are that when I’m coming home I will listen to this band.

I don’t know why but I didn’t do that and “Ecstasy” is the first album I’m listening to in it’s entirety from Kissin’ Dynamite and I wonder why I haven’t listen to this band before. “I’ve Got The Fire” is a killer opening track and directly after that blast “You’re Not Alone” totally blow me away and this might be the second best song released in 2018, only beaten by the magnificent “Pro Memoria” from the latest Ghost album. It goes on with “Somebody’s Gotta Do It” and the title track. My energy is quite high right now and you may wonder why the rate is only 7/10 after my overwhelming words about the start of the album.

In my world the album contains to many songs. If you include the two bonus tracks it’s 13 songs on the album and that’s to many in my opinion. Kissin’ Dynamite can’t keep my interest up for 55 minutes but they don’t have to be ashamed because there are very few bands who can manage that. But it’s definitely a good album and when it’s time to sum the year up this would probably be a top ten album in my book. And believe me when I write that I will not miss this band once again.
