Korpiklaani – Kulkija

4/10

I don’t know where to start to be honest. I think the Finnish language is very special to put it in a diplomatic way, and because of that fact it’s almost impossible to listen to bands from Finland who choose to sing in their own language. Second of all I don’t think the songs are good enough and finally the total running time is over 71 minutes. Korpiklaani is a fun band to watch live but on record it’s get pretty boring after lets say 20 minutes. I can guarantee that my interest would have last longer if they had cut it down to ten songs instead of fourteen, but not even I could have it all in this world och Heavy Metal.

A few years ago I saw the band at Sabaton Open Air and in my review I was writing about the energy they put into the show. It was fun watching them live but not for the music which was boring in 2013 as well. If Nuclear Blast is investing in Korpiklaani there must definitely be a market for the band and if I drink a few beers maybe I can enjoy the music full, but in the end I believe that you don’t need beer to appreciate music. I use to say that a good song is a good song regardless to the genre but in this case the good songs shines with its absence.
