Classic hardrock sung in swedish. Their first self titled album came in 2018 and hit me like a ton of bricks. Filled with great 70s and 80s hardrock it came from nowhere and made my list of great albums released last year. Prins Svart now releases their second album on the 10th of may called “Inte här för att stanna”, filled to the top with hardrock, great ballads and bluesy rock songs.
The ballads on this album are quite tasty with “En eftermiddagsdröm” being a nice slow blues rock that evolves into some awesome heavy hardrocking with great guitar and nice vocals reminding me of 80s Whitesnake. “Stridens Larm” with the “While my Guitar gently weeps” feel is a beautiful way to end an album with an epic guitar solo. “Vargen av Oss Två” is a great rocker with all the elements to be a classic rock hit, fantastic riffing, oozing keyboards and great melodies.
The album ends strong where the last four songs(not counting “Melandi”) are very good. Sadly the first 3 songs are not very good (“Jag kommer hem” is an ok song) which lands my verdict at what might seem like a low rating of 6 out of 10. However this album is a must thanks to some fantastic tunes on the other half of the album.
Production was done by Dino Medanhodzic who has worked with Hardcore superstar and The Poodles earlier. Rickard Nilsson from Avatarium plays Hammond-organ on the album. Prins Svart will have their release party at Kraken Stockholm on the 9th of may.
