Sabaton on the Sabaton Cruise 2019, 1st night: Live review
To be honest I’m pretty tired of that song. It’s definitely one of Sabatons worst songs ever made and still the people are going totally insane every time Sabaton play live on swedish soil. For me it’s a mystery but of course I can’t ignore the fact that people wanna hear the song, for real. This first night at the Baltic Sea Sabaton doesn’t really get up to the heights that they’ve done several times on their own festival Sabaton Open Air. The people in the audience is on the same level as they are in Falun though and when Sabaton finally play “Swedish Pagans” the roof on the Baltic Queen is about to rise and fly away over the ocean.
The show starts with the extremely well oiled “Ghost Division” and for me that’s one of the best openers when it comes to live shows in the world of Heavy Metal. “Great War”, “The Attack Of The Dead Men”, “Saboteurs” and “40:1” follows and Sabaton are doing their job on that stage. For me I’m pleased when “Uprising” is performed because my favourite album with Sabaton is “Coat Of Arms”. Every time I’m watching a show with Sabaton I’m waiting for songs from that particular album and I really want to hear “The Final Solution” live, it’s an absolutely amazing song.
I didn’t get the chance to hear it this time but “En Livstid I Krig” (A Lifetime of War) is almost an equal song because it’s almost as brilliant. Last year I gave Sabaton 4/10 in my review, they were kind of tired then I think. This year it’s better and the second show was one of the best gigs I’ve ever wittnessed with Sabaton but that’s another story. No “The Final Solution” but a lot of happy people singing along in “Swedish Pagans”, that’s pretty fun after all.
