TNT – XIII

7/10

TNT is back with their 13th album and two of the original members is in the band now after the singer Tony Harnell left the band once again. Taking over the lead vocals after Tony is not an easy task. It is not just a challenge but on the verge of impossible. The guys have brought in a little more unknown singer from Spain named Baol Bardot Bulsara. He has been in tribute bands and some musicals and on November 22, 2017, he made his first gig with the band when they opened for Scorpions at Spectrum, Oslo and the audience liked him right away.

A brand new album with the band (Ronni Le Tekro guitar, Diesel Dahl drums, Ove Husemoen bass and Baol Bardot Bulsara song). 12 new songs were recorded in Norway, with an even quality of the songs. My first thought after listening to the whole album was not so good and the rating would have been low after that. But I always listen to the albums a couple of times before I make up my mind about them. First out on the album is “We’re Gonna Make It”. It fits like a hand in the glove. The chorus is good and you find yourself singing and humming the chorus after a while. “Not feeling anything” sounds like TNT should and here is the band showing why Baol got the job after Tony. He shines with his register of tones. If they make it work on the personal level between themselves and can keep Baol as singer they have made a real bargain. This man can sing. He fills the hole after Tony without any problems. TNT have made an album that works well in 2018 and the melodic hardrock feels so strong in 2018.
