Powertrip and Space Lord are great songs, but two great songs are not enough to carry an entire set even if it just consists of ten songs in total. I saw Monster Magnet 14 years ago in Borlänge, Sweden and already back then the set suffered from a lack of good material. Since then nothing much has happened. The only real difference is that back then Monster Magnet seemed bored and uninterested, while today they actually seemed to like standing on the stage.
The fact that the sound is very bad makes the majority of the songs sound like pulp. Especially Dave Wyndorf’s vocals have been set way too low and the strong gusts of wind over the festival area do not help either.
