Thundermother @ Sweden Rock Festival 2023-06-10

As late as in March all band members apart from founder Filippa Nässil left Thundermother. Slightly remarkable is that the same thing happened in 2017. Even so Nässil decided to carry on, adding new members to the band – including former bass player Majsan Lindgren. I had saw Thundermother at Royal Rock Fest in Sandviken a year and a half ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the simple rock’n’roll recipe. Filippa Nässil knows her heavy metal ABC and combined with the fantastic vocals by then singer Guernica Mancini it all made for a great time. Unfortunately this was far from as good. The band is in a great mood and pull off all the metal cliché poses. I can’t quite decide if I like it or if it is too much. The problem tonight is that Linnea Vikström’s vocals do not come close to Mancini neither in register or strength.  At Sweden Rock Thundermother sounded more like just another party band at any biker party rather than the tight show I saw in 2021.
